Glamping is the combination of the words “glamorous camping,” and it’s a more luxurious version of camping which provides a new option for modern people to connect to nature. Glamping sites around the world have increased in recent years, including some sites in Taiwan. Glamping provides a brand new experience from traditional camping, and it is highly recommended for both novice and experienced campers.
Nayi Village
Located in the mountains of Yilan County, Nayi Village is famous for its beautiful natural scenery and unique fauna. In the forest, glampers get to see monkeys, waterfowls, and even the Taiwan Blue Magpie. At night, visitors can hear owls, woodpeckers, and frogs singing. In addition, Nayi Village offers tourists various outdoor activities to engage in, such as bubble pump football, row boats, outdoor yoga, and of course hiking. For visitors accompanied by children, Nayi Village’s swimming pool will no doubt delight them. As for the meals, Nayi Village glamping site provides guests with barbecue ingredients. Joshua Tree, California
Joshua Tree National Park is unique for its natural desert scenery. The national park contains two different desert ecosystems: "the Mojave'' and "the Colorado''. Sculpted by strong winds and rains, the park has a variety of trees and cacti. What’s more, the park was also where the “Dior Sauvage'' fragrance advertisement was shot. Aside from its grand landscape, Joshua Tree is a fantastic site for visitors to go on a vacation. Airbnb owners at Joshua Tree provide customers with several options, such as camper or bell tent. One camp goer, Coco Chou said, “It’s highly recommended to rent a camper at Joshua Tree. Sleeping in a camper is more comfortable than I thought. The utilities inside are enough to provide for all kinds of daily needs.” If glampers are a fan of rock climbing, the huge rocks there may attract them to challenge themselves. Although the colors of cacti aren’t as colorful during summer, tourists can still see how lavish the natural resources are. When asking about glamping during the pandemic, Chou considers it a safe idea since “during the COVID-19 pandemic, people tend to travel in spacious places to keep themselves safe. That’s why we chose Joshua Tree National Park as our destination.”
But before going glamping, there are still some things to keep in mind. Staying for a night in the wilds, glampers should check the temperature and prepare suitable outfits for the climate. Glampers should also make sure that the glamping sites offer daily amenities so that they won’t need to pack them. Some of the glamping sites do not offer cooking utensils and ingredients, so for those areas glampers may have to bring them. The two glamping sites above are suitable for people who love outdoor activities and want to camp among nature with all the comforts of home.
